Export Your Data from Brokeredge for Ownwell (CSV Guide)

Export your funded deal data from Brokeredge into a CSV file for Ownwell. Learn how to generate the Ownwell Extract, review missing mandatory fields, and export the correct file for upload.

Written by Arthur Rees

Exporting your data from Brokeredge gives you a CSV file that can be imported into Ownwell.

This guide walks you through how to generate the Brokeredge Ownwell Extract, review any missing required information, and export your funded deals into a CSV file for upload.

Unlike Velocity or Finmo, Brokeredge imports into Ownwell by CSV only.

Before You Begin

Before starting, make sure you can log in to Brokeredge and access My Settings.

This process will generate a CSV containing your funded deals. You’ll upload that CSV into Ownwell in the next step, where you can preview the data before importing.

You can correct missing information in three places:

  • directly in the Brokeredge Ownwell Extract table

  • in the exported CSV file before upload

  • in the Ownwell import preview before final import

Any mandatory fields highlighted in red must be completed before those files can be imported into Ownwell.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Follow the steps below to generate your Brokeredge Ownwell Extract and export your CSV file.

The most important things to get right:

  • generate the Ownwell Extract

  • click Refresh after generating the files

  • review any fields highlighted in red

  • complete mandatory missing information before importing to Ownwell

  • export the file as a CSV

If mandatory information is missing, your export may still complete, but those files will not be ready to import into Ownwell until the missing fields are completed.

Open the Ownwell Extract

→ Log in to Brokeredge

→ Click your profile image in the top-right corner

→ Click My Settings

→ Click the Ownwell Extract tab

Generate the Ownwell Files

→ Click Generate Ownwell Files

Brokeredge will generate a list of all funded deals for upload to Ownwell. You’ll see a message explaining that any missing data items will be highlighted in red.

→ Click OK

Load the Extract Table

→ Click Refresh

This loads the generated Ownwell Extract table.

Review and Update Missing Information

Review the table before exporting.

Any mandatory fields highlighted in red must be completed before those files can be imported into Ownwell.

You can update missing information directly in the Brokeredge table. Brokeredge also supports mass updates for some fields, including:

  • Household Income

  • Dwelling Type

Filogix-sourced files may need extra review

If some of your Brokeredge deals originally came from Filogix, they may be more likely to have missing information.

Review any highlighted fields and complete them before importing into Ownwell.

Export Your CSV

Once the table has loaded and you’ve reviewed the required fields, you'll want to export it as a CSV.

→ Click Export as CSV

By default, Brokeredge exports the full table.

If you only want to export specific funded deals, select those rows first, then click Export as CSV. Brokeredge will export only the selected files.

Save the CSV somewhere easy to find. You’ll upload this file into Ownwell in the next step.

FAQ

Can I edit missing information after exporting the CSV?

Yes. You can update missing information:

  • directly in Brokeredge before exporting

  • in the CSV file after exporting

  • in the Ownwell import preview before completing the import

The important thing is that mandatory fields must be completed before the file can be imported into Ownwell.

Why are some fields highlighted in red?

Red fields are mandatory fields that are missing information. These fields need to be completed before the affected files can be imported into Ownwell.

Why do some Filogix-sourced files have missing information?

Some Brokeredge deals that originally came from Filogix may not include every field Ownwell needs. If this happens, Brokeredge will highlight the missing mandatory fields in red so you can review and update them before import.

Can I export only some funded deals?

Yes. If you do not select any rows, Brokeredge exports the full table. If you select specific rows before exporting, Brokeredge exports only those selected files.

Is there a Brokeredge API import?

No. Brokeredge imports into Ownwell are handled by CSV. Only Velocity and Finmo currently support API imports into Ownwell.
