If one or more clients aren't appearing in Ownwell after syncing your Velocity API, follow the steps below to identify the issue and import your clients successfully.
Run a Sync
From the Clients page, click Sync.
Wait for the Import Preview to finish loading.
Search for Your Client
Use the Search bar to locate a specific file.
You can search by:
Deal ID
Client name
Property address
Email address
Other deal information
This is the quickest way to determine whether the client is included in the Import Preview.
💡 Tip: You don't need to review each row individually. Use the search bar to quickly locate a specific client.
Review the Sync Preview
Once the preview has loaded, review the available tabs.
Ready to Import – Clients ready to be imported. Will import on the nightly sync if Automatic Sync is enabled.
Not Imported – Clients that were previously skipped and need to be manually imported.
Errors – Clients with validation errors that prevent import.
Warnings – Clients with information that should be reviewed. They can be manually imported as is, but will typically create Issues that need to be resolved before the client can get their first report.
Review the Not Imported, Errors, and Warnings tabs to identify clients that require manual import or errors corrected.
Check the Not Imported Tab
If your client appears in the Not Imported tab, they were previously skipped during an import.
Ownwell treats manually deselecting a client during import as Do Not Import. These files won't be imported automatically in future syncs.
To import the client:
Select the checkbox beside the client.
Continue reviewing any Errors or Warnings, if applicable.
Click Start Import.
Check the Errors Tab
If your client appears under Errors, hover over the red highlighted number to view the validation error.
Then scroll across the table until you find the field highlighted in red.
Update the required information.
Errors must be resolved before the client can be imported.
Once you've corrected the error:
Run Sync again.
The client will move to Ready to Import.
Select the client.
Click Start Import.
💡 Before importing, make sure you've selected every client you'd like to import.
Once you've reviewed your clients, click Start Import.
Check the Warnings Tab
If your client appears under Warnings, hover over the yellow highlighted number to review the warning.
Scroll across the table until you find the field highlighted in yellow.
Warnings don't prevent a client from being imported.
You can still select the client and import them.
However, unresolved warnings may create issues in Ownwell that need to be resolved or dismissed before the client receives their first report.
