If you're not seeing a specific client record in Ownwell, it could be due to a few common reasons. Ownwell requires certain fields and conditions to import a file successfully. Here’s how you can troubleshoot:
Steps to Resolve:
Check the Application Status: Ownwell only imports clients with the following statuses:
Finmo: Clients must have an application status of "Funded."
Velocity: Clients must have a status of "Funded and Awaiting Payment" or "Complete."
Verify the Closing Date: the closing date must be in the past. This is because we don't think it makes sense to send clients a report on their home until after they've moved in.
Verify the Maturity Date: Ownwell imports only active mortgages (i.e., mortgages that haven't matured). Check to make sure that the maturity date is in the future. Note: we'll be adding support for importing matured mortgages in the near future!
Review the Payment Schedule: Ownwell currently does not support interest-only mortgages, but support for these is coming soon.
Review the Payment Frequency: Ownwell doesn’t yet support accelerated weekly or semi-monthly payment frequencies, but we're working on adding these.
Ensure All Required Fields Are Complete in Finmo or Velocity: The following fields are necessary for a successful import:
Borrower details - required
Primary borrower first name
Primary borrower last name
Primary borrower email address
Household income
Subject property details - required
Use type (owner-occupied, rental, etc.)
Property type (detached, condo, etc.)
Original value (i.e. purchase price, estimated value, etc.)
Unit
Street number
Street name
Street type
Street direction
City
Province
Postal Code
The original mortgage details - required
Transaction type (purchase, refinance, etc.)
Closing date (must be in the past)
Original mortgage amount
Original mortgage rate
Original mortgage rate type
Term
Amortization
Lender

Primary borrower phone number
Primary borrower credit score
Subject property property taxes
Subject property Heating
Subject property condo maintenance fee
Note: Clients imported into Finmo or Velocity via CSV uploads or deals pushed to Expert may lack some of this required information.
Reimport the Client Record: If you’ve updated the file in Finmo or Velocity, simply click "Import from Finmo/Velocity" in the Ownwell dashboard to pull in the updated record.
Important: Once a client record is in Ownwell, any edits should be made directly in Ownwell. Changes made in Finmo won’t sync back to Ownwell after the initial import.
