Welcome to Ownwell! You’re just a few steps away from turbo charging your client engagement. Before you get started, you'll need to import your client data into Ownwell.

Connecting your Velocity account with your Ownwell account (via API) takes only a few minutes and a few clicks of a button!

Here's how to connect your Ownwell account with your Velocity account:

⛔️ Important Note: Client files that were pushed from Filogix Expert into Velocity may lack some of the required information we need for successful import.

If this is the case, it is best to export directly from Filogix to import these client files into Ownwell.

📸 Keep in Mind: A client import via API (Velocity) is a snapshot in time.

Once a client record is in Ownwell, any edits should be made directly in Ownwell. If you make changes in Velocity AFTER the import, they will not sync to Ownwell.

👉 Do you have an old Velocity account that you no longer use? Do you want to specifically select for which clients get added to Ownwell? In these two scenarios, we recommend importing via CSV (from Velocity).

Troubleshooting Tips

  • If some clients aren’t appearing, it’s likely due to missing or incompatible data (e.g., clients without the status of Funded and Awaiting Payment" or "Complete".). See the Velocity API requirements here.

🪄 What Happens Next

Once your data import is complete, each client will appear in Pending status in your dashboard.

You can review who was just imported by using the Recently Added filter — this makes it easy to spot-check new clients and confirm their details before their first report goes out.

Ownwell will prepare each client’s first homeownership report, which is automatically sent 7 days after import, as long as no issues are present in their data.
If any issues are detected (for example, a missing lender or invalid address), the report will be paused until those are resolved or dismissed.

After that, clients will continue receiving updated reports automatically every month, with no manual enrollment or activation required.
